Keevil & Keevil – Smithfield Meat Market’s oldest name - is part of the George Abrahams Group – a major supplier of meat and associated products worldwide.
Keevil & Keevil began life in Newgate Market - then London’s principal meat market - in 1797, before transferring to the new Central Meat Market at Smithfield after its opening in 1868. (Newgate Market closed down in 1869, having become a public nuisance.)

George Abrahams Ltd operates on Smithfield Market, serving catering establishments, retail butchers and the general public. The company specialises in meat cuts from South America and Australasia.
George Abrahams Trading was originally set up to supply this outlet and has grown rapidly from here. The division imports from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe and supplies a wide range of customers in the UK and continental Europe, in addition to our own outlets.
As a complement to our imports, we are also active in the export sector to foreign markets, in particular Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and more recently the Caribbean. However, our experienced, multi-lingual traders know no borders, are always exploring new opportunities and continuing to develop strong relationships with both new and existing suppliers and customers worldwide.
